Is Real Geeks worth it? An honest review of the website, the CRM, and the cost.
Real Geeks is worth it for solo agents and small teams who want an IDX website and a CRM under one login, and who will actually work the leads. It is not worth it if you expect the platform to build your brand, rank you on Google, or follow up for you. It does none of that on its own.
By Emily Wyatt, Founder and Fractional Marketing Partner at Oak & Algorithm, formerly Real Estate Concierge Services Co. I help Realtors in Raleigh, the Triangle, Lake Norman, and across the country get found on Google and in AI search, then turn that attention into closings.
Real Geeks is a good engine with nobody driving it.
Real Geeks gives a real estate agent the parts: an IDX website, a real estate CRM, AI texting, and paid lead packages. What it does not give you is the strategy that turns those parts into closings, and that is where most Real Geeks accounts quietly stall.
So the real question is not "is Real Geeks good?" It's "am I the kind of agent it works for?"
Real Geeks fits you if
- You're a solo agent or a team of two to ten who wants one login for your site, property search, and CRM.
- You plan to buy leads and need somewhere fast to catch them.
- You (or someone on your team) will answer new leads in minutes, not days.
- You're fine committing for 6 or 12 months.
Look somewhere else if
- You want a site that looks and sounds like you, not like every other Real Geeks site in your MLS.
- You need deep automation, reporting, or lender partner workflows.
- You want to get found without paying for ads every month.
- You need month to month.
How much does Real Geeks cost in 2026?
Real Geeks starts at about $399 a month for the platform, plus a one-time setup fee, and the lead packages that make it feel like a lead machine cost extra.
| Line item | Typical cost | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Platform (IDX website, CRM, 2 users) | About $399/month | Your site and your database. The base everything else sits on. |
| Setup | About $500, one time | Gets the platform live. It does not brand it. |
| Commitment | 6 or 12 months | No month to month. Budget for the whole term. |
| Extra users | From $25/user/month | Fine for a small team. Adds up as you grow. |
| Lead packages (Social, Search, Seller) | About $299 to $799/month | Paid ads that send traffic to your site. When the budget stops, so do the leads. |
| Geek AI Text | About $49/month, included with a lead package | AI texting that answers new leads fast. |
| First-year math: platform, setup, one Search package | About $12,476 | Before a single closing, and before anyone builds your brand or follow-up. |
Prices are from 2026 third-party pricing roundups. Real Geeks raised its base price from $299 to $399 a month in June 2025. Real Geeks sets and quotes its own pricing, so confirm current numbers in writing before you sign. First-year math: $399 × 12 + $500 setup + $599 × 12 for a 12-month Search package.
The cost that never shows up on the invoice
The real price of Real Geeks is the work it leaves on your desk: a brand that looks like you, local pages Google can rank, a Google Business Profile that points back to the site, and a follow-up plan your CRM can actually run.
Skip that part and you're paying $399 a month for a very nice parking spot.
What does Real Geeks actually include?
Real Geeks bundles four things most agents would otherwise buy separately: an IDX website, a real estate CRM, AI texting, and paid lead generation. Here's what each one does well, and where it runs out.
The IDX website
Clean, mobile-first property search tied to your MLS, with sign-up prompts built to capture buyer and seller leads. Buyers genuinely like searching on it.
My takeGreat for search. Thin on personality. I help you turn it into a branded authority site, or pair it with one.
The real estate CRM
Lead routing, tags, and follow-up tasks built for agents, so you can track your pipeline and stay top of mind.
My takeEnough for most solo agents. It gets stronger with real follow-up systems and email campaigns built inside it.
Geek AI Text
AI that texts new leads back fast, so nobody sits in your database for six hours wondering if you exist.
My takeHelpful for speed to lead. It starts the conversation. You still have to close it.
Lead generation tools
Social, Search, and Seller ad packages, plus tools like the Real Geeks property valuation pages, built to attract buyer and seller leads.
My takeRented attention. Useful, but pair it with ways to get leads without paying for them so you're not stuck feeding the meter.
Real Geeks pros and cons
Real Geeks is a solid all-in-one platform with a ceiling on design and automation, and both sides of that matter more than any feature list.
The wins: what I like
- Solid all-in-one. Website, CRM, and basic marketing tools are connected, so you're not duct-taping five apps together.
- High-converting IDX. The search experience is genuinely good for buyers, which means more sign-ups.
- Fast speed to lead. Geek AI Text answers new leads while you're at a showing.
- Your own domain. You can run it on your own domain name instead of a rented subdomain.
The headaches: what to watch for
- Dated design. Out of the box, the templates feel a bit 2015. It needs your brand personality.
- CRM limits. Power users will want the advanced automation of a dedicated system like HubSpot.
- Requires active management. This is not a set-it-and-forget-it tool. It needs a marketing strategy to pay off.
- Same listings as everyone. Your IDX pages show the same MLS data as every competitor, so they won't make you stand out on Google.
- No month to month. Plan on a 6 or 12 month commitment.
Will a Real Geeks site get you found on Google or recommended by AI?
A Real Geeks site will not get you found on Google or recommended by ChatGPT on its own, because its IDX pages show the same MLS listings every other agent's site shows.
Think about how referrals work. Nobody refers you because you have the same listings as everyone else. They refer the agent they've heard about and can check up on. Google and AI search work the same way. When a buyer asks ChatGPT for a Raleigh agent who knows relocation, it names the agent with the most proof it can find. If it can't find proof on anyone, it doesn't pick your competitor. It shrugs and says "try Zillow."
Why don't IDX listing pages rank?
IDX listing pages rank poorly because Google already has those exact listings on Zillow, Realtor.com, and hundreds of brokerage sites. Duplicate data doesn't give Google a reason to send a searcher to you. What you write about your market does.
What makes a Real Geeks site worth recommending?
A Real Geeks site earns recommendations when it carries proof only you can provide:
- Neighborhood and relocation pages written from what you actually know about the area.
- Buyer and seller guides that answer the questions clients ask you every week.
- A Google Business Profile linked to the site, with reviews that mention where you work.
- The same name, phone, and bio everywhere you show up online, so Google and AI can tell it's all you.
- Local SEO that ties all of it to the towns you serve.
Can AI search read a Real Geeks site?
AI search tools can read any public page they can reach, including a Real Geeks site. The question is whether there's anything on it worth repeating. If your site says the same thing as every other agent's site, AI has nothing to quote. Here's how Realtors actually get found in AI search.
Your platform holds the leads. Your local proof is what gets you the leads in the first place.
Real Geeks vs Sierra Interactive, Follow Up Boss, HubSpot, and DealFlow
The right platform depends on what you need it to hold: your website, your leads, or your whole follow-up system.
| Platform | What it is | Best for | My take |
|---|---|---|---|
| Real Geeks | IDX website and CRM in one | Solo agents and small teams who want one login | Good value if someone does the marketing around it |
| Sierra Interactive | IDX website and CRM with deeper automation | Growing teams that run on systems | Powerful IDX and automation, hands-off on the build |
| Follow Up Boss | CRM only, no website | Agents juggling several lead sources | The best follow-up CRM in real estate, blank until someone builds the system inside it |
| HubSpot | Marketing automation and CRM, not built only for real estate | Agents and loan officers who want serious nurture and reporting | Enterprise-grade, and overkill for some agents |
| DealFlow CRM | My own real estate CRM | Agents who want simple follow-up that actually happens | Built for speed and simplicity (yes, I'm biased) |
Sierra Interactive
Powerful IDX and automation, hands-off on the build. I make it look and convert like yours.

Most agents who want to leave Real Geeks don't have a platform problem. They have a strategy problem, and it moves with them to the next platform.
Stay and fix it if
- Leads come in, but they don't turn into appointments.
- The site works, it just looks like everyone else's.
- You're mid-contract. Make the months you're paying for count.
- Nobody built a follow-up plan inside the CRM.
Switch if
- Your team has outgrown the CRM and needs real reporting.
- You need workflows Real Geeks can't run, like lender or referral partner pipelines.
- You only use the CRM and you're paying for a website you ignore.
Not sure which one you are? The $125 Google Visibility Audit tells you whether the problem is the platform or everything around it.
How I make a Real Geeks setup actually produce
I build the marketing around Real Geeks: the brand, the local authority, and the follow-up, so the platform you already pay for turns into closings instead of a monthly charge you resent.
-
Find the leak
The Google Visibility Audit checks your Google Business Profile, your Real Geeks site, your search presence, and how AI tools describe you, then ranks what to fix first.
-
Brand what the platform lets you change, and build what it can't
I rework your Real Geeks site around your brand, your story, and your proof. When the template ceiling is too low, a Realtor Authority Website does the trust work and sends buyers to Real Geeks for property search. Here's the difference between a Realtor website and an authority website.
-
Build follow-up that runs without you
I set up the tags, drip campaigns, market reports, and CRM follow-up systems that turn cold Real Geeks leads into booked appointments.
-
Feed it local proof every month
Neighborhood pages, real estate content, local SEO, and a sharper social media and ad strategy that attracts the right clients, so you're not only renting leads.

Real Geeks FAQ
Is Real Geeks worth it for real estate agents?
Real Geeks is worth it for solo agents and small teams who want an IDX website and a CRM in one place and will work their leads fast. It is not worth it if you expect it to build your brand, rank you on Google, or follow up for you, because it does none of those on its own.
How much does Real Geeks cost?
Real Geeks starts at about $399 a month for the platform with two users, plus a one-time setup fee of about $500 and a 6 or 12 month commitment, based on 2026 third-party pricing roundups. Lead packages run about $299 to $799 a month on top of that, so confirm current pricing with Real Geeks in writing before you sign.
Does Real Geeks build my website for me, or just give me the platform?
It gives you the platform and a templated site. The branding, structure, and local content are on you. That is the gap where most agents stall, and it is exactly what I build out.
Will a Real Geeks site rank on Google by itself?
Not on its own. The IDX makes your listings searchable, but ranking takes local authority content: neighborhood pages, buyer and seller guides, and a Google Business Profile that points back to your site.
Will ChatGPT or Google's AI recommend me because I have a Real Geeks site?
No. AI search recommends agents it can find proof about, like local pages, reviews, and a consistent Google Business Profile, and the platform you use is not part of that proof. A Real Geeks site helps only when it carries content that explains who you help and where.
Can you make my Real Geeks site look less like a template?
Yes, within what the platform lets you change: branding, copy, pages, and structure. When the template ceiling is too low, I build a Realtor Authority Website that does the trust work and send buyers to Real Geeks for property search.
I already have Real Geeks. Do I need to switch platforms?
Usually not. The platform is rarely the problem, and switching just restarts the same gap somewhere else. Switch only when you've outgrown the CRM or need workflows Real Geeks can't run.
Is Real Geeks better than Follow Up Boss?
They do different jobs. Real Geeks is a website and CRM in one, while Follow Up Boss is a CRM only, with stronger follow-up tools and no website. Pick Real Geeks if you need the site, and Follow Up Boss if you already have one and juggle several lead sources.
Do you work with Real Geeks agents outside Raleigh?
Yes. I'm based in Raleigh and work with agents across the Triangle and Lake Norman, and the website and follow-up work is done remotely, so I work with Real Geeks agents nationwide.
Make your tech actually work for you.
Whether you're considering Real Geeks or already have it, the marketing around it decides whether it pays you back. Let's build that part together.
